Witan, the multi-manager global growth investment trust, confirms the appointment of Catherine Claydon as non-executive Director to the Board. Catherine joins with immediate effect.
Catherine brings with her extensive financial services and regulatory experience having been employed as Managing Director, Pension Advisory Group first at Goldman Sachs and more recently Lehman Brothers. Catherine, a Canadian national, holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
The Board also confirms that Alan Jones will stand down at this year’s annual general meeting to be held on 28 April 2009. Alan has been an independent non-executive director of Witan Investment Trust for 13 years, the last five of which he was Chairman of the Remuneration Committee.

Having held senior positions at Goldman Sachs and subsequently Lehman Brothers within the pension division she brings with her a breadth of experience that will fully complement the existing skills of the Trust’s other non-executive. The Board would like to pass on their warmest wishes to Alan Jones who retires after 13 years as a non-executive director and to thank him for his invaluable work as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee since 2004.”
