Witan Story

Witan was established in 1909 to manage the estate of the first Lord Faringdon, Alexander Henderson. Witan listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1924 and in 1932 it founded Henderson Administration (now Henderson Global Investors) to manage its funds. In 1983 Henderson itself became a public Company by being floated on the London Stock Exchange and in 1997 Witan sold its last remaining stake in Henderson to AMP. In 2004 Witan became self-managed and appointed its first Chief Executive Officer. At the same time, it adopted a multi-manager strategy and the current CEO was appointed in 2010. In 2009, Witan celebrated its Centenary and in 2015 Witan announced its 40th year of dividend growth (2016 marks 41 years) but please be aware that past performance is not a guide to future performance.
